Caravan Park Industry Gets Mainstream Attention in Upcoming Sky Original Series

Danny and Dani Dyer are set to bring new attention to the UK’s caravan park industry through their upcoming Sky Original series, The Dyers’ Caravan Park

The show will follow the father-daughter duo as they attempt to manage a caravan park on the Isle of Sheppey, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and rewards of operating within Britain’s £7 billion holiday park sector.

Produced by Expectation, the company behind Clarkson’s Farm, the series aims to highlight the realities of running a caravan park, from facility maintenance and guest relations to entertainment programming and food service.

According to a report by Hello Rayo, Sky describes the show as an exploration of “childhood nostalgia” mixed with “business ambition,” with the Dyers facing the complexities of park management firsthand.

Danny Dyer, known for his acting career in EastEnders, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, stating:

“What you might not know about me is I love a caravan, and I love a caravan site. So, with my daughter Dani by my side, as the voice of reason, I’m taking charge of one.” However, he also acknowledged the risks involved afterward.

Dani Dyer, a former Love Island winner, also shared her excitement, highlighting her father’s sociable nature but questioning his business acumen.

“My dad wants to get involved in the caravan park, and I’m all in: I love a caravan, so why not? My dad is a very friendly person – he’s good at bringing everyone in – but has he got what it takes to make a success of this?”

For business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector, the series could serve as an opportunity to showcase the intricacies of the industry to a mainstream audience.

With holiday parks facing evolving guest expectations and rising operational costs, The Dyers’ Caravan Park may offer valuable insights into the day-to-day realities of the business.

Ben Wicks, creative director at Expectation, noted that while the Dyers’ enthusiasm is evident, “their experience of running a caravan park is extremely limited,” emphasizing the potential learning curve they will face.

The series, set to air in 2025 on Sky Max and NOW TV, joins a growing trend of reality shows that explore hospitality and tourism ventures.

As public interest in UK staycations continues, industry professionals may find the program beneficial in shaping consumer perceptions of caravan parks and highlighting the expertise required to run a successful operation.
