Moissac Campsite Reopens for 2026 Season with New Pet-Friendly Accommodations

The Moissac campsite is set to reopen at the end of March following its winter closure, marking the start of the 2026 tourist season. Located near the city and surrounded by natural landscapes, the site caters to visitors seeking a calm and family-friendly environment.

For this season, the campsite will introduce a new policy allowing dogs in certain accommodations. Specifically, pets will be accepted in five-person tents without sanitary facilities and in the Moorea accommodations designed for two people.

The move addresses a growing demand among holidaymakers who wish to travel with their pets while maintaining the comfort of other guests and preserving the natural environment of the campsite. Booking in advance and specifying pet accommodation will be required due to limited availability, according to Le Petit Journal.

This operational adjustment reflects a broader trend in the outdoor hospitality industry, where pet-friendly policies are increasingly used to attract families and long-stay visitors.

For private campgrounds and holiday parks, accommodating pets requires careful planning around hygiene, safety, and zoning within the site. Offering limited, designated areas for pets can balance guest satisfaction with operational efficiency and environmental preservation.

For business owners, the approach taken by the Moissac campsite highlights several practical considerations. Clear communication with guests, such as specifying which accommodations allow pets and the booking process, is essential to avoid conflicts.

Additionally, businesses may need to implement cleaning protocols and guidelines for pet behavior to maintain the quality of the campsite experience. Tracking guest demand for pet-friendly options can also provide insights for future investments or facility upgrades.

The Moissac campsite’s reopening and new pet policy illustrate how outdoor hospitality operators can respond to evolving guest expectations while maintaining operational standards.

Owners and managers can evaluate such trends when planning seasonal strategies, pricing, and amenities, particularly in family-oriented campgrounds and RV-friendly sites.
