Mainprize Regional Park, located off Highway 39, is gearing up for the upcoming Canada Day long weekend with a variety of activities, including a Slo-Pitch tournament on June 28. Campsite registrations can be made through the Let’s Camp website.
General Manager Michelle Walsh announced that the park is preparing for a busy and exciting month, with the upcoming weekend marking the start of summer events.
“Our July First weekend kind of kicks off our summer events. So if you don’t want to camp all weekend, you can come out for the day, and there’s lots to see and do, including fireworks at dusk,” she said, as reported by Discover Weyburn on June 21.
The tournament will continue on June 29, culminating in an evening Cabaret featuring live entertainment. On June 30, guests can enjoy a pancake breakfast at Pederson Place, sponsored by the Dr. Mainprize Foundation.
Canada Day events include a golf cart parade, a visit from the Midale Public Library, bouncy castles on the beach, a market in Pederson Place, a free barbecue, and fireworks at dusk.
Another highlight is the Glow Golf event scheduled for July 5, with registration currently open. On July 6, the annual Cornhole tournament will take place, an event moved to July to attract more participants.
Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy activities such as golf, fishing, boat rentals, and local amenities, including a store and a restaurant. The park has also introduced TV Bingo on Saturdays.
“Sometimes during the week, we have lots of different activities going on for people of all ages,” Walsh said.
According to its website, Mainprize Regional Park offers many amenities. Guests can take advantage of the baseball diamond, beach, and boat launch, along with boat rentals for those eager to explore the water. The park also features a driving range and fire pits, with firewood available for purchase.
Other amenities include group camping areas, sewage dump, showers, and event hall rentals.
Mainprize Regional Park’s approach highlights the value of using celebrations and activities to attract guests. Organizing a variety of activities, such as sports tournaments, live entertainment, community breakfasts, parades, and evening fireworks, can boost occupancy rates, increase repeat visits, and attract new guests.
