Super Run, a premier car show, is set to occur during next year’s long weekend in August. According to a report, the car show will be held at theGrand Valley Campground in Manitoba instead of the Keystone Center.
Road Rebels President Dave Burba noted that the enthusiasm in planning the 2022 Super Run was evident during the very first meeting on Sunday at Murray Chevrolet.
“Everybody is very, very excited to get Super Run on the go,” Burba said. “It’s coming along very nicely.”
Burba said that auto enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating returning to the event, and organizers have been working hard to ensure that the 2022 show is a success.
Brandon (Manitoba) hosted the Super Run before the COVID-19 pandemic and is scheduled to be hosting the returning event as public health measures are removed. Super Run typically runs in three-year cycles between Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
In 2022, the event will be like the 2019 Super Run. However, the event will be held at the Grand Valley Campground instead of the Keystone Centre this year.
Burba claimed that the location is ideal for the event because it’s a picturesque spot and offers a relaxing setting.
“It gives us a little more flexibility in what we want to do and build Super Run to be,” Burba said. “We’re pretty excited about being out there.”
Holding the car show at Grand Valley Campground will allow participants to bring trailers or tents to stay on the site.
“We’re hoping that this will encourage some of the vintage campers to come out,” Burba said.
In addition to the new venue, new sets of wheels will also be on display at the 2022 Super Run in classic motorcycles. The bikes will join the old camper-trailers and snowmobiles that will be seen at the event.
The show’s 2019 version saw approximately 650 vehicles sign up. The volunteers hope to see the 2022 event increase to between 800 to 1,000 vehicles. Burba stated that they believe the show is a huge hit since COVID-19 has stopped Super Run events and other car shows over the last two years.
