Kejimkujik National Park Introduces New Booking System

Kejimkujik National Park will open reservations for its campgrounds on Wednesday at 8 a.m., introducing a new booking system aimed at streamlining the process for visitors.

According to an article published by CKBW on February 11, Parks Canada has eliminated the virtual queuing system used in previous years, moving to a first-come, first-served approach.

Campers will have access to select and add campsites to their carts starting at 8 a.m. without refreshing the page.

Reservations, however, will only be confirmed once users click “Reserve” at that time. Each campsite placed in a cart will be held for 20 minutes to allow users to complete their booking.

The change is intended to create a smoother reservation experience, reducing delays and frustrations tied to high traffic volumes during peak booking hours.

Parks Canada encourages users to prepare in advance by creating or updating their online accounts. They also suggest identifying alternative campsite options, given the likelihood of high demand for popular sites.

“This new process aims to improve the experience for everyone,” Parks Canada stated. “We’ve removed the queue system to provide a more accessible and efficient booking service.”

Parks Canada’s move aligns with growing trends in the outdoor hospitality industry to implement reservation systems that prioritize real-time availability and guest convenience. Simplifying the booking process can improve operational efficiency and increase occupancy rates.
