The Telkwa RV Park in British Columbia has reopened under new ownership of Marisca and Devin Bakker. The park, which has been closed since the end of 2022 following the previous owner’s passing, is now called Harmony Ridge RV Park and Guesthouse.
The park’s reopening marks a new chapter for the location, previously known as Fort Telkwa Riverfront RV Campground. The Bakkers decided to take over the park driven by a business opportunity and a desire to positively impact the community. Bakker mentioned they saw a promising opportunity at the campground.
“We saw a good opportunity, and we wanted another adventure. And we thought it would be good for the community to have this right, to have it open,” Marisca told The Interior News.
The local community has responded positively to the reopening. Marisca noted they have received a lot of feedback and excitement from people in the community about the park being open again. This feedback highlights the park’s importance to the area.
According to the campground’s website, the guesthouse at Harmony Ridge RV Park offers two units, each featuring two bedrooms—one with two twin beds and one with a single twin bed—a kitchen, an eating area, and a bathroom with a shower. Additionally, the kitchens are fully equipped, and guests can enjoy a gas BBQ on the covered deck.
Free wireless internet is also available, and registered guests have exclusive access to the complimentary boat launch into the Bulkley River.
Another significant aspect of the campground is its strategic location. Marisca explained that the property is halfway between Prince George and Prince Rupert on the highway, making it a popular stop for travelers en route to Alaska.
