Elk Valley Campground Operators Urge Campers to Book in Advance

Are you planning on coming to Elk Valley (British Columbia, Canada) in a camper or considering a camping trip this summer? Campground operators say it is better to plan ahead.

According to a report, Snowy Peaks RV near Hosmer has all of its 20 sites booked for the next two years, at least during the spring and summer months, from the May long weekend to November.

The remaining tent sites at Snowy Peaks RV are used by employees and long-term stayers who reside on the premises and are also booked for the next two years.

The Fernie RV Resort is another option for those seeking campsites. However, they are also expecting another busy year.

According to EK Parks, Mount Fernie Provincial Park reservations were only made accessible on April 1, as reservations can only be booked two months ahead of time. The park is scheduled to open on June 1.

According to the District of Elkford Community and Facility Services Director Kevin Petovello, Elkford Municipal Campground, which includes 77 campsites, currently has 80 confirmed bookings ranging from different durations throughout the 2022 season.

Tracy Erickson, Mountain Shadows Campground manager in Sparwood, said at least 12 of their 50 serviced RV sites are fully booked by contractors for the 2022 season.

Other options for camping are  Kikomun Creek Provincial Park, about 42 km southwest of Fernie, or Will-O-Bend Golf and RV Park around Jaffray.
