Jasper National Park Closure Extended to September 3 Amid Wildfire Activity

Jasper National Park has extended its closure to campers until at least September 3. This decision comes as a result of wildfire that has been ravaging the area, prompting Parks Canada to take necessary precautions to ensure public safety.

Parks Canada announced the closure of Jasper National Park in response to ongoing wildfire activity. All camping reservations, applied only to Parks Canada campgrounds and accommodations, with a checkout date on or before Tuesday, September 3, will be canceled.

The announcement stated that visitors do not need to take any additional steps for cancellations and refunds. Additionally, there is no projected date for the park’s reopening, and more information will be provided as the situation evolves.

“Full refunds will automatically be provided, but please be patient as they will likely be delayed. There is no need for further action on the part of visitors for these cancellations and refunds. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this news brings to your travel plans,” Parks Canada indicated in a Facebook post.
