Discovery Wildlife Park Campground Offers RV Sites, Cabins, and Wildlife Encounters

Nestled in the heart of Innisfail, Alberta, Discovery Wildlife Park offers a blend of wildlife encounters and camping experiences. This 90-acre sanctuary, home to over thirty species of orphaned animals, provides an immersive journey into nature.

Discovery Wildlife Park showcases a range of camping options to suit various preferences. Visitors can choose from campgrounds, cabins, and RV sites with electrical hookups. The RV sites do not include water or sewer connections, but the park provides amenities for a comfortable stay. Tenting areas are available for those seeking a more rustic experience.

Overnight guests at the park enjoy exclusive evening animal encounters. These special programs offer an opportunity to observe and interact with the park’s residents after hours. Daily animal presentations and bear safety talks provide insights into wildlife behavior and conservation efforts.

The park’s educational programs include activities such as “Walk with a Wolf,” where visitors observe and learn about wolf behavior up close. These hands-on experiences aim to foster a connection between visitors and the animals, promoting understanding of wildlife conservation.

Discovery Wildlife Park also offers an adoption program for those interested in supporting a particular animal. This initiative allows supporters to contribute to the care and enrichment of specific animals, creating a lasting connection with the park’s residents.

According to its website, the Innisfail campground offers 49 powered sites and 17 cabins surrounding a stocked rainbow trout pond, where fishing is permitted. Various packages are available, including camping and park admission, with the option to add evening animal experiences.

Rates begin at CA$40 per night. Open fires are not allowed, but propane fire pits are available for rent at CA$10 per night. Propane tanks can be rented for CA$15, providing approximately seven hours of use.

Cabins are also equipped with mini fridges and power outlets, allowing guests to use small appliances such as phone chargers, coffee pots, crockpots, and electric frying pans. “You must bring all your own cooking devices and supplies, as well as your own bedding. Mattresses are provided on each bed,” Discovery Wildlife Park’s website indicated.
