Reflections Holidays is enhancing the camping experience with their new approach to amenity design. The holiday park operator is unveiling a biophilic-designed facility at their Forster Beach location.
The centerpiece of this new amenity block is a lush, landscaped garden that serves as both a visual focal point and a functional space for guests to unwind. This green oasis is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it’s a deliberate implementation of biophilic design principles, which aim to promote well-being and connect people with nature.
According to a press release, Reflections CEO Nick Baker emphasized the significance of amenities blocks in holiday parks, noting that they play a crucial role in guest satisfaction. He explained that the organization enlisted the expertise of an interior designer to evaluate guest feedback.
“Whether our guests are staying in a tent at one of our remote inland parks or treating themselves to a luxe stay in a tiny home or modern cabin in a coastal park, we know they want good quality amenities,” Baker said.
Interior designer Hayley Ferguson drew inspiration from Reflections Holiday’s fundamental belief that Life’s Better Outside while contemplating features that would improve guests’ amenity experience.
“The brief for the design was to reflect the core of what Reflections is about – bringing people back to nature – and we did that by using biophilic design principles, which promote wellbeing,” Ferguson said.
One of the new amenities features a nature-inspired soundtrack piped through built-in speakers. This auditory element, combined with a custom Reflections scent, engages both hearing and smell to create an immersive experience.
The attention to detail extends to every aspect of the design. Door handles and robe hooks shaped like pebbles pay homage to nearby Pebbly Beach.
Reflections’ commitment to sustainability is evident in the eco-friendly features integrated into the new amenities. Water-efficient showerheads and a design maximizing natural light and airflow demonstrate the company’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact.
“We have ensured that the materials chosen, locally where possible, are hardwearing and durable as we know these spaces to experience a lot of wear and tear and want to ensure a long lifespan. To improve the air quality, plants act as natural air filters – regularly circulating the air and improving air quality,” Ferguson shared.
