A new player has entered the Australian caravan market, and they’re doing things differently. Launched in late-2022, My Dream RV has set up shop in Melbourne’s caravan manufacturing heartland with the backing of one of the country’s fastest-growing RV dealer networks.
The company was founded by experienced caravan factory manager and mechanical engineer Don Rafiq, who has held senior management positions at top Melbourne caravan manufacturers, according to a report by the Caravan Camping Sales.
My Dream RV’s caravans stand out from the competition with their unique design elements, including a Euro-inspired curved front that offers both aerodynamic and fuel-saving benefits.
The new models are built using traditional ‘stick ‘n tin’ methods with smooth aluminum composite body cladding and feature efficient production processes that help keep costs low.
In line with the company’s focus on innovation, My Dream RV offers a range of luxury caravans that come with a host of inclusions as standards, such as two lithium batteries, two solar panels, and a SOG toilet.
The pre-assembled furniture is sourced from local suppliers, the Wren Group, and Proline Chassis supplies the chassis with Tuffride suspension components.
The company has also taken steps to ensure their caravans are of the highest quality, applying a waterproof sealant around the shower area to prevent rot in case of water leaks.
My Dream RV’s caravans also feature handle-free cabinetry, embossed leather upholstery, and LED lighting, both inside and outside.
The models are available in five different body lengths, ranging from 17ft 6in to 23ft, with both couple and family layouts. The prices for the luxury off-road range start at around $80,000 and top out at around $100,000, drive-away.
The My Dream RV factory in Epping, Victoria, is currently producing around five vans a week with a team of 13 workers. The vans are sold exclusively through Caravan HQ‘s multi-brand retail outlets in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales.
