Wild Beach in Chiba, Japan Offers Relaxing Glamping Experience

Glamping has taken off in Japan as an alternative to traditional camping. It takes away the hassle of setting up and cleaning and it boils the experience down to what you’d like to do: relax around your tent or trailer, eat food cooked on an open fire, and then spend the night outside.

Wild Beach offers plans for all-day barbecues and overnight stays in fully-furnished tents of various sizes, stylish trailers, and sleek lodge units with balconies. It is possible to order food and drinks at the restaurant or take as much food as you think you’ll need if you’re staying over.

The entrance to Wild Beach is through the restaurant and into the “beach” area, a large space of white sand that allows guests to relax and enjoy barbecues on the patio and food, and, of course, you’ll have to remove your shoes. The campsite extends out towards the other side of the beach, covering the various zones.

Tents made of thick canvas cover the edges of the camping area and are durable in all weather conditions. The rough exteriors of the tents can be deceiving.

Inside, you’ll find the most well-equipped and clean living area, complete with lighting fixtures and pillows that you’ll need to rest peacefully (power outlets are also available, of course). The staff is a little “hands-off,” which is precisely what you need when camping, so it’s best to get to the place you want to be in and make sure that you have everything you require before settling into sleep with barbecues, campfires, and anything else you like; listen to music, read, drink, sing, and watch on your tablet. This is the beauty of glamping.

You’re probably thinking about what type of food you’ll be served. Most of their barbecue recipes consist of premium cuts of beef, pork, and chicken, along with a variety of vegetables. You will grill the meat by yourself, so you’ll, of course, have gloves and tongs as well as serving plates when your food is done. You are also welcome to bring your drinks, food, as well as snacks!

Naturally, the location is also an element of the attraction for visitors. Wild Beach is situated close to Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu and a tiny amusement park with rides. You can do daytime shopping in one of the many stores or ride on the ferris wheel to catch the stunning view of Tokyo Bay just off to the side. Like you’d expect from its name, the beach is just an easy walk away, so take a stroll through the beach if you want to get out and about.

If you’re planning to go to Chiba and you’re looking to experience camping, then glamping at Wild Beach is an excellent option to begin. Camping by yourself is a great experience but requires an array of gear and preparation. While glamping is a fantastic experience for those unfamiliar with camping, it is also a wonderful getaway for experienced campers but might lack the energy or resources to pack all the equipment.
