Leisure Hotels Group has expanded its presence in northern India with the launch of Samsara Hill Resort in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. The opening marks the company’s 15th property in the state, further increasing its footprint in one of India’s most established mountain tourism destinations.
Located on a two-acre hillside site, the resort offers 21 accommodations designed to appeal to a range of leisure travelers. The property includes suites, mushroom-style tents, and glamping domes overlooking the Himalayan landscape. Some of the domes also feature private Jacuzzis.
Additional amenities include landscaped outdoor spaces, recreation areas for families, and open-air gathering spaces intended to support a variety of guest experiences.
The launch reflects continued investment in experiential accommodations, a segment that has gained traction across the hospitality sector as travelers increasingly seek nature-based stays combined with modern amenities. The inclusion of glamping domes and tented accommodations aligns with broader industry trends that blend outdoor experiences with hotel-style comfort.
Speaking on the launch, Vibhas Prasad, Director, Leisure Hotels Group, told Hotelier India, “Samsara Hill Resort reflects our continued commitment to expanding experiential hospitality offerings across Uttarakhand’s most iconic destinations.
Mussoorie remains one of India’s most beloved hill stations, and with Samsara, we aim to offer travellers a distinctive mountain retreat that combines immersive experiences, authentic regional character, and warm hospitality in an exceptional natural setting.”
Prasad added that Samsara Hill Resort seeks to offer visitors a combination of mountain surroundings, experiential activities, and hospitality services designed to enhance stays in the region.
The resort’s food and beverage program includes regional dishes from the Garhwal area alongside international menu options. According to the company, the culinary offering places emphasis on locally sourced ingredients.
Guests are also offered a range of activities including nature walks, heritage walks through Mussoorie’s Mall Road and Landour areas, picnics, night trails, and destination-based excursions. The property is positioned to serve families, couples, and leisure travelers visiting the hill station throughout the year.
Speaking about the association, Manav Gupta, Promoter, Samsara Resort, said, “Samsara was envisioned as a sanctuary where guests can reconnect with nature while enjoying thoughtful luxury amidst the mountains. We are delighted to partner with Leisure Hotels Group and look forward to creating a distinctive hospitality experience that showcases Mussoorie’s natural beauty, heritage, and enduring appeal for travellers seeking an authentic Himalayan escape.”
For outdoor hospitality and glamping operators, the launch highlights the continued growth of hybrid accommodation models in established tourism markets.
By combining traditional resort amenities with glamping-style units and experience-driven programming, operators may be able to attract a broader mix of travelers while diversifying accommodation inventory.
The development also underscores the ongoing appeal of destination-focused experiences in mountain regions, where outdoor recreation, local culture, and premium lodging are increasingly being packaged together as part of a single guest offering.
The company did not disclose the investment value of the project or an exact opening date beyond announcing the launch of the resort.
