Mark Passmore, a third-year apprentice at Jerry’s RV, has been awarded the $5,000 grand prize in the 2025-2026 NTP-Stag Canada RV Technician Bursary program, the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada announced.
The bursary provides financial support to eligible RV service technicians and dealership fixed operations personnel across Canada to help offset educational expenses, school costs and the purchase of job tools.
Passmore was selected based on his commitment to professional growth, hands-on skills and the Canadian RV industry.
“Winning this bursary is a massive milestone in my apprenticeship journey,” Passmore said. “I am deeply grateful to the RVDA of Canada and NTP-Stag Canada for investing in the next generation of technicians.”
Passmore said the support will provide apprentices with resources to develop their skills and work with new technologies.
“Thanks to NTP-Stag Canada’s generous support, apprentices like myself have the resources we need to master our craft, tackle complex new technologies, and keep the rolling realms safely on the road,” he said.
NTP-Stag Canada has contributed more than $103,500 to the bursary programs since 2017, supporting RV professionals with tools, training and other educational needs while they work and attend school.
Scott Brydon, president of Jerry’s RV, said the training and hands-on experience gained through RV technician programs benefit technicians and dealership customers.
“The knowledge and hands-on skills gained through the RV Technician Training Programs are rewarding in themselves when a technician like Mark comes away with more knowledge, skill, and confidence—which benefits not only himself but our customers, which is our main goal,” Brydon said.
Brydon said Passmore’s bursary reflects his commitment to professional development and said programs such as the bursary also support dealerships seeking to keep technicians trained through available courses.
“This in turn strengthens the future of the RV service industry,” Brydon said.
The RVDA of Canada is a national federation of provincial and regional RV dealer associations and their members. The organization develops advocacy, professional development and industry initiatives for businesses involved in the recreational vehicle industry.
