The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) expanded its workforce development outreach at the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) 2026 Annual Conference, using the national event to promote certified RV technician careers and encourage schools to adopt its training curriculum.
The conference was held July 11-14 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, where RVTI met with school counselors and administrators to raise awareness of career opportunities in the RV industry and strengthen its recruitment pipeline for future technicians.
According to the institute, a primary objective of attending the conference was to build relationships with educational decision-makers who can help integrate RVTI’s curriculum into high schools.
The curriculum enables students to earn Level 1 RV technician certification before graduation, providing an entry point into the industry while still in school.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on July 23, Justin Rickett, director of industry relations for the RV Technical Institute, said school counselors play a key role in influencing students as they consider career options.
“School counselors are often one of the first influences students have when exploring career paths, which makes the ASCA Annual Conference an important opportunity for RVTI,” Rickett said.
“Our goal is to continue growing the RV technician pipeline by increasing access to RVTI curriculum in high schools and introducing students to this unique career opportunity. Through these partnerships, we are helping build a sustainable workforce while creating meaningful career pathways for students across the country,” Rickett added.
RVTI’s participation in the conference is part of its effort to connect with trusted advisors who guide high school students interested in skilled trades while expanding partnerships with schools that can offer the institute’s training program.
Great American RV supported the institute’s exhibit by providing a Grand Design Imagine travel trailer for display during the conference. The trailer helped attract counselors to its booth and demonstrate the career opportunities available in the RV service sector.
