Glamping B&V Fujisan Kawaguchiko, a new glamping resort featuring 23 individual accommodation units, opened on January 8, 2026, in the Kawaguchiko area of Yamanashi Prefecture, approximately a 90-minute drive from central Tokyo.
The property positions itself as the largest glamping resort in Japan’s Kanto region and is located within view of Mount Fuji, with all guest units designed to offer unobstructed sightlines of the mountain.
The resort’s accommodations are distributed across four room types. These include Suite Villas equipped with private pools, Dome Tents intended for smaller groups, Twin Dome Premium units that can host up to 20 guests, and Dog Cabins designed specifically for travelers accompanied by pets.
Eight of the 23 units are designated as Dog Cabins and are located adjacent to a private 500-square-meter dog run, allowing dogs to move freely off-leash. Each Dog Cabin is fitted with its own sauna, bath, and toilet facilities to accommodate extended stays with pets.
A distinguishing feature of the resort is the inclusion of vanadium mineral baths in every guest unit.
The bathwater is sourced from deep groundwater originating from Mount Fuji, a resource commonly associated in the region with mineral bathing experiences. Each unit also includes a fully private sauna, with access to an outdoor bathing area surrounded by natural scenery.
These amenities are intended to allow guests to remain within their individual units while accessing wellness-focused features.
Food and beverage offerings highlight locally sourced ingredients. Dinner menus include steaks made from “Fujisan Kuroushi” beef, raised near the base of Mount Fuji, alongside seasonal vegetables, soups, and desserts.
During the winter season, the resort plans to offer sukiyaki featuring “Koshu beef” and “Koshu Shingen pork,” both regional products associated with Yamanashi Prefecture. The management building houses a bar space offering an all-you-can-drink service, while each accommodation unit includes a fire pit for outdoor use.
From an operational perspective, the resort reflects several trends currently shaping the outdoor hospitality and glamping sectors in Japan and beyond. These include increased demand for pet-friendly accommodations, private wellness amenities, and experiences centered on iconic natural landmarks.
The inclusion of large-capacity units also suggests a focus on group travel and multi-generational stays, which continue to represent growth segments in outdoor lodging markets.
