Kunes Auto & RV Group announced that Scott Kunes will step away from his day-to-day responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and personal goals.
Scott Kunes played a role in the company’s expansion and operational development during recent years, according to a press release.
Since 2019, Kunes Auto & RV Group has grown from 16 locations to more than 40 locations across the Midwest, with Scott involved in leadership during that period.
“Scott has helped lead this company through an extraordinary period of growth,” said Gregg Kunes, CEO & Owner of Kunes Auto & RV Group.
“When we finished 2019 with 16 locations, we could not have imagined how quickly we would expand, and Scott has been a major part of building what we are today. More importantly, he is family first, always,” Gregg said.
We wholeheartedly support him in this next chapter and are excited to see what he accomplishes next. He will always be part of the Kunes story,” Gregg added.
The company stated that the leadership change comes as operations continue to expand. Kunes Auto & RV Group reported that it has added three new stores this year and plans to continue growth.
The organization is also introducing structural and operational changes intended to support long-term operations and store-level performance.
Tom Fohr has been appointed Chief Operating Officer as part of the transition. Fohr has been with the organization for 20 years and has held roles in sales, finance, general management, and regional operations.
In his new role, he will oversee operations as the company continues expansion and work with store leadership teams while maintaining alignment with company values related to culture, employees, customers, and communities.
“Our future is strong, and our team is strong,” Gregg Kunes added. “This transition is about building the structure that allows us to keep growing while staying true to who we are. We believe deeply in this team, and the best days of Kunes Auto & RV Group are still ahead.”
Founded in 1996 in Delavan, Wisconsin, Kunes Auto & RV Group operates as a family-owned company and donates 10 percent of its annual net profits to local charities.
The company has received multiple “Automotive News’ Best Dealerships to Work For” awards.
The leadership change and continued expansion are relevant to the RV industry as dealership growth can affect availability, service access, and distribution for RV buyers across the Midwest.
