Pine View Campground Cabins Officially Made Available to the Public

As the 2022 fishing season starts on May 7, the Fort McCoy Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) has numerous cabins for rent near a popular fishing area at Pine View Campground (Wisconsin).

All cabins at the campground are near Suukjak Sep Lake, which is annually stocked with thousands of rainbow trout and has various indigenous species of fish available.

The cabins are close to the La Crosse River, home to various trout for fishing. Pine View Campground, the lake, and other Pine View Recreation areas are all managed by DFMWR.

The DFMWR’s Business and Recreation Division Chief Scott Abell said cabins at the campground vary and provide excellent accommodations.

“All of our cabins will be available year-round,” Abell said. “Cabins range from one bedroom with loft (park model type) to two-bedroom units.”

The Pine View Campground office and the Fort McCoy Equipment Check-out are also open so people can check out fishing equipment if needed and more, Abell said.

“The office is manned as we have cabin guests, and they handle reservations for camping in spring, summer, and fall. Equipment check-out is also available with a variety of items,” he said.

Ten new model cabins in the park were added to the campground in 2018, according to Recreational Specialist Alex Karis with Outdoor Recreation for DFMWR. The cabins became available on May 22, 2020.

The cabins in the park have a bedroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a living space with cable TV, air conditioning, and a washer and dryer.

Abell said the cabins are fully furnished and have plenty of amenities. He also provided the cabin rental rates.

The duplexes cost $80 per night for military or Department of Defense (DOD) employees and $90 for the general public. Meanwhile, the one-bedroom cabins with a loft cost $85 per night for military or DOD employees and $95 for the general public.

On the other hand, the lakeside two-bedroom cabins cost $95 per night for military or DOD employees and $120 for the general public. While the east side two-bedroom cabins cost $110 per night for military or DOD employees and $135 for the general public.
