Lake Wisconsin Campground secured approval from the Columbia County Board of Supervisors Planning and Zoning Committee to expand its facilities by adding 12 new campsites.
The committee granted a conditional use permit during a meeting on November 5, clearing the way for the campground to increase its capacity on a 26.5-acre property located at County Highway V and County Highway CS in the Town of Dekorra.
According to an article published by Enterprise Press on November 5, the meeting saw a 4-0 vote in favor of the proposal, although Supervisor Andrew Kolberg was absent.
The Lake Wisconsin Campground, which already operates 160 campsites, features family-friendly amenities for guests. Situated on the east shore of Lake Wisconsin, offers visitors a scenic escape in Central Wisconsin, blending outdoor recreation with a relaxed atmosphere.
Catering to both seasonal visitors and weekend travelers, the campground provides a welcoming environment where campers can enjoy fishing, boating, and lounging by the lake. Additionally, each campsite is equipped with a 50-amp electrical hookup, and the on-site dump station provides added convenience for RV travelers, allowing them to settle in comfortably.
The campground also offers a range of convenient amenities designed to enhance visitors’ stays. A bathhouse provides hot showers, ensuring guests can stay refreshed throughout the camping season. For social gatherings or events, the recreation hall offers a spacious area with activities and a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Another expansion project set to open in 2025 will introduce a new seasonal area featuring full 50-amp hookup sites, catering to visitors seeking modern camping conveniences. The new area will include gravel pads topped with purple granite, and fresh grass.
