Despite Good Business, Some RV Dealers Still Experience Supply Issues

The shortage of supplies continues to affect businesses of all kinds—the camping and RV sector is among them, as per a report.

Camping is a favorite activity for many, including Bonduel, Wisconsin resident Jack Shmoll.

“We go to the national forests a lot, and state and county parks we do a lot of. We might go there. Whatever’s in the middle of the week. Not many people. We’re retired, so we’ve got that luxury,” Shmoll said.

In the report, Shmoll claimed that he’s met more campers over the last few years. He said he tries to go camping in the middle of the week as weekends are usually “plugged up.

The report also mentioned Quietwoods RV owner Steven Nevilleho who said that RV sales have been robust. Still, there’s a concern for many.

“It has been a little struggle with getting inventory in at a good time for customers and everything. And, of course, we do have an inflation thing going on. It has affected our industry. Somewhat, people are still buying.” Neville said.

The dealer isn’t the only one affected by supply issues.

“Materials are coming in slowly. We’re not making campers as quickly. Some of the campers are actually not being made due to the fact that we can’t get parts for certain things,” Travis Haack with Kunes RV Green Bay said.

Because of the shortages, dealers believe that the best time to buy an RV is now.

“Do I feel that we are going to have the inventory in June and July? Yes. But none of us have a crystal ball. These factories have all ramped up to their best ability that they could do with not getting materials that they need, but I would recommend if you want to camp, buy it now,” Neville said.

Isn’t it intriguing how the RV industry’s evolving trends prompt quick RV purchases due to ongoing supply chain issues? Dealers recommend pre-ordering specific models for a smooth RV acquisition despite manufacturing delays. In my opinion, acting fast might secure your dream RV amidst these challenges.
