Bonanza Camping Resort: A Wisconsin Dells Park with Humble Beginnings and Enduring Charm

Nestled in the bustling heart of Wisconsin Dells, Bonanza Camping Resort stands as a testament to humble beginnings and enduring charm. With over 50 years under its belt, this unique campground not only offers a traditional outdoor experience but also incorporates a slice of history with its RV park.

“It’s a little unique because it is… Right in the middle of the Wisconsin Dells which is kind of unusual. There are probably 15 different campgrounds around the Dells but we are right in the middle of it,” said Steve Gabriel, the resort’s manager.

During an interview with Modern Campground, Gabriel said the resort’s prime location on Bonanza Drive, directly across from Mt. Olympus and merely a mile from Noah’s Ark, makes it a convenient choice for visitors looking to explore the Dells.

Cozy Accommodations, Relaxing Amenities, and Fun Activities

Bonanza Camping Resort distinguishes itself not just by its location but also through a variety of accommodations and amenities. From RV and tent camping to cabin rentals, the resort caters to all preferences.

“We have twelve cabins that we rent out on a nightly basis. We have four RVs that are available for rent. We have 31 full hookup sites. It’s water, electric, and sewer,” Gabriel said on the resort’s diverse offerings.

Delving deeper into the heart of Bonanza Camping Resort, one can find an array of amenities that enrich the camping experience. The resort boasts a heated swimming pool, a jumping pillow, and numerous park amenities, according to the campground’s website.

Moreover, during the summer months, the resort comes alive with theme weekend activities, creating a lively atmosphere for guests of all ages. The on-site facilities are comprehensive, including a gaga pit, jumping pillow, playground, basketball court, Jump Shot, and even a Country Store & Snack Bar for those last-minute camping essentials or a quick bite.

When it comes to the resort’s approach to food and activities, Gabriel said that hand-dipped ice creams were a hit this year. Campers also usually wake up early to explore nearby water parks and come back in the afternoon to rest at Bonanza.

A Dedication to Customer Service

The staff at Bonanza Camping Resort plays an integral role in the guest experience. Gabriel recognizes this, saying “We’ve got a small staff but we all try to make the customer feel at home try to do whatever we can to make them feel like this is the best experience they’ve had and they’ll come back next year.”

In terms of marketing and outreach, the resort leverages modern tools while cherishing the value of positive guest experiences. Gabriel said they utilize various social media platforms to accommodate guests, and Google Ads to reach out to more potential customers looking for a place in the Dells.

The resort has seen significant improvements and modernization under the management of the IVEE Group, enhancing its appeal to a broader range of campers. Gabriel said when the group first took a look at Bonanza Camping, which was a family-owned campground back then, it wasn’t kept up to date or modernized.

“I think they saw a need for people who want to come up to the Dells and it’s not strictly a campground,” Gabriel reflects on the impact of the IVEE Group’s involvement.

Bonanza Camping Resort, with its rich history, diverse accommodations, and a wide range of amenities, stands as a humble yet captivating destination in the heart of Wisconsin Dells.

Its commitment to guest satisfaction, coupled with its prime location, makes it a unique choice for those seeking a blend of adventure and comfort. The resort continues to thrive as a haven for camping enthusiasts, offering a gateway to the wonders of Wisconsin Dells without losing sight of its humble roots.

The management prowess at Bonanza Camping Resort is part of a larger network of excellence. The park is a key property in the Turnstone-Blue Vista portfolio, a joint venture that boasts an impressive collection of campgrounds and RV resorts.

Each with its unique charm and amenities, the portfolio includes American RV Resort, Panama City Beach RV Resort, Gulf Beach RV Resort, Navarre Beach Camping Resort, Sugar Sands RV Resort, Milton/Gulf Pines KOA Holiday, Port St. Joe, Pikes Peak RV Park, and Basswood Resort.

Building on this foundation of quality, Bonanza Camping Resort has ambitious plans for the future.
