Parks & Recreation announced the opening of six new glamping sites at Chickahominy Riverfront Park, operated by Timberline Glamping Company. These tents have two queen-size beds, a mini-fridge, air conditioning, a heater, a coffee maker, a ceiling fan, stylish home décor, and a deck offering scenic views of Gordon Creek.
Chickahominy Riverfront Park also offers a variety of water-based activities and amenities, providing both locals and visitors with diverse options for entertainment. The park features a 290-foot lighted fishing pier, available 24 hours a day, along with a catch-and-release pond for anglers of all skill levels.
To ensure compliance with local regulations, anyone over the age of 16 must obtain a freshwater fishing license. In addition to fishing, the park provides a boat ramp for personal watercraft, accessible at all hours. For those interested in other water activities, the park offers canoe and kayak rentals yearly.
The park also hosts several fishing tournaments annually. Tournament space is conveniently located between campsites and the fishing pier, accommodating participants and spectators. For events with 20 or more boats, organizers must register with the Guest Services Office.
In addition to water recreation, Chickahominy Riverfront Park provides a wide range of amenities for visitors to enjoy. Trail access and parking for the Virginia Capital Trail allow guests to explore the scenic surroundings, while the sand volleyball court, basketball half-court, and splash pad offer recreational options for all ages.
The park’s on-site store offers a variety of goods, including drinks, snacks, ice cream, bait and tackle, firewood, and camping supplies. Visitors can also purchase maps, boating supplies, and essential items such as batteries and paper products.
The park provides secure boat and RV storage within a fenced environment for those requiring longer-term storage. With secure gate access, storage is available on a monthly basis for $100.
Camping and event options are also available at Chickahominy Riverfront Park. Single, free-standing tents up to 16’x16’ are permitted in designated areas, offering flexibility for overnight stays or day events. However, using larger tents, inflatables, or generators requires a Special Park Use Permit, with additional fees depending on the event’s size and scope.
