Seasonal Changes Coming To Bryce Canyon National Park

Changes to the campground operations and other visitor services will be coming to Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah as the summer concludes, a report said.

The park’s Sunset Campground remains open for camping by reserving at Recreation.gov until October 16th, at which point it’ll be converted to first-come-first-served camping. Sunset Campground closes for the season on November 1st or earlier if temperatures fall consistently below freezing.

North Campground is currently open for first-come, first-served camping. Although Loop A will remain open all year long, the remainder of North Campground and its Dump Station will close at night when temperatures fall consistently below freezing. This typically is between mid to late October.

The park’s visitor center and bookstore is open all hours from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and will shift to the fall hours of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on October 10th. The winter hours of 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. begin on November 7th. The visitor center and park are open all year long.

The Bryce Canyon Shuttle is currently running beginning 8 a.m. till the last outbound bus leaves from the visitor center around 6:20 p.m. Shuttle service will continue to operate in the park until October 17th.

The safety measures for visitors are in place, including the sanitization of buses every hour and a mandatory mask requirement for all users. Shuttle service will resume in April 2022.

Concessions for lodging and food services in the park will be in operation through the majority of the autumn season. On November 1st, the Lodge at Bryce Canyon will close for the winter at 11 a.m.

Accommodation in the park is accessible up to the closure of Sunset Hotel on November 27th. Its General Store will close for the season at 5 p.m. on November 28th. The facilities will reopen in the spring of 2022. Visit www.brycecanyonforever.com or call 877-386-4383 for park lodging rates and availability.

The last day for riding horses and mules operated through Canyon Trail Rides will be October 30th, unless the weather calls for an earlier closure. Canyon Trail Rides will resume operations on May 1st, 2022, or earlier if the conditions of the trails allow. Go to www.canyonrides.com and call 435-679 8665 for more details.
