Construction has begun on a new luxury resort, “The Look RV Resort,” located at mile marker 53 on Highway 191, about a mile and a half north of Blanding, Utah. Developed by Sage Innovations LLC and overseen by Jared Berrett, the resort is expected to open in the spring or early summer of 2025.
The 22-acre site, once owned by Genie Shumway, was home to the “Look” uranium mine, which inspired the resort’s name. The development will feature a mining theme, honoring the area’s rich mining history.
According to an article published by San Juan Record on November 26, the resort will offer a variety of accommodations, including 18 cabins, six glamping sites, 12 tent sites, and 90 RV hookups, with 53 pull-thru and 37 back-in sites.
Guests will have access to a playground, a pickleball court, bathhouses, laundry facilities, and ADA accessibility throughout the park. A three-story main office building will be the centerpiece of the resort, with a 60-foot tower resembling a mining shaft. The tower will house a game room with a pool table, ping-pong, air hockey, and arcade games. The resort will also feature an exercise room, an indoor swimming pool, and an outdoor hot tub.
The cabin options will include 12 “miner’s” cabins designed for families, featuring a full kitchen, a queen bed in a private room, bunkbeds in the main area, and a shared bathroom. Each of the sleeping areas will be equipped with a TV and an air conditioning unit.
The remaining six cabins will feature king studios, each offering one king-sized bed, a full kitchen, a bathroom, heat and air conditioning, and a TV.
Located near Recapture Lake, the resort will offer guests a scenic view of Blue Mountain, adding to the area’s appeal for tourists visiting San Juan County.
Plans for the resort include a zip line from the platform atop the mining shaft. Additionally, a multi-purpose conference room will be available for rent, accommodating business meetings, family reunions, and other events.
