If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience close to the Great Smoky Mountains, a new campground in Sevierville, Tennessee might be just what you’re looking for.
Campers at the Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort are treated to a glamorous camping experience.
“It’s a glampground,” Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort’s Co-owner Rebecca Turner said.
“I don’t know if that’s a real word, but we’ve adopted it, and this is Sevierville’s glampground,” she added.
The outdoor resort was opened in November. Since the resort’s grand opening, reservations are filling up.
“We are just finding out that this might be a lot more fun and a greater adventure than we thought it was gonna be originally,” Turner stated.
The outdoor resort is equipped with covered wagons and tipis for guests to stay in.
Turner said that the glampground offers the only covered wagons in the county, and the tipis go with the theme. The wagons come with a king-sized bed, bunk beds, mini-fridge, microwave, bedding, as well as a coffee bar. They are the ideal choice for families with four members.
The tipis are equipped with only one bed (king-sized, of course), but have the same facilities.
Although it may appear different from your usual excursion to the campsite, there’s plenty of wildlife for you to view.
“We have the goats that visit from our neighbor daily,” Turner explained. “We have the chickens, deer, coyotes, and some bobcats.”
Turner said she hopes that people can unplug and take advantage of the things East Tennessee has to offer.
“We want people to get out and just enjoy the fresh air and get back to being outdoors more,” Turner stated.
The resort is expected to expand in the coming years. Turner stated that the hotel will grow with more tipis, wagons, and even tree houses for people to stay in. The final touches are expected to be completed by the end of next summer.
