The Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CARVC) is set to host hands-on RV repair training sessions ahead of its annual Conference and Expo in February 2025. Designed to equip campground operators and staff with essential technical skills, the sessions will take place at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Level 1 Tech Class, presented by the RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) in collaboration with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), will run from Monday, February 3, to Friday, February 7. The five-day course covers a range of technical topics, including propane systems, appliances, generators, body and chassis maintenance, and more.
Dee Witting, CARVC’s executive director, emphasized the importance of offering inclusive training opportunities. “Any aspiring male and female RV technicians in attendance will receive gold-standard training to equip them with skills to prepare RVs for customer delivery,” Witting said.
The cost for the Level 1 Tech Class is $200 per person, which includes lunch each day of the training. Participants can expect a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on practice.
On Saturday, February 8, CARVC will offer a one-day RV Technical Basics session, also presented by RVTI. This session is designed to provide campground staff with essential troubleshooting skills to assist customers experiencing issues during their stays.
The course covers topics such as LP system testing, electrical board inspections, freshwater system maintenance, air conditioning repair, battery checks, and expandable room operations.
The fee for the RV Technical Basics session is $60 per person, which includes lunch, snack breaks, and a park tour. This condensed training offers a practical solution for campground operators seeking to improve their ability to support guests with technical difficulties.
According to Witting, “Both training sessions are valuable for any woman or man who is interested in a career as an RV technician or looking to enhance their technical RV skills for quality customer service at their parks.”
The main event, the 2025 CARVC Conference & Expo, is also set for February 9-11, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This annual gathering brings together park operators and vendors from the Carolinas and surrounding states to explore industry trends, share best practices, and build valuable business connections.
The event is a key opportunity for professionals to stay informed about innovations in campground operations and guest services.
Conference attendees can participate in a wide array of educational sessions tailored to the needs of campground operators. Topics include marketing strategies, data-driven decision-making, sustainable camper relationship innovations, and addressing water supply and onsite wastewater management.
Early Bird registration for the conference starts at $299 per person, with discounted rates for additional registrants. Vendors are also welcome to exhibit during the trade show, with booth rates starting at $260 per table, offering them a chance to showcase products and services to a targeted audience.
