RV Shipments In October Hits Above 32K Units, RVIA Survey Says

The results of the RV Industry Association‘s (RVIA) survey of manufacturers showed that the total RV deliveries ended the month with 32,652 units, a decrease of 43.7% compared to the 57,971 units delivered in October 2021.

In October, the RV shipments decreased by 12.2% compared to the same time in the previous year, when there were 448,246 wholesale shipments, according to RVIA’s latest monthly shipment report.

RVIA President & CEO Craig Kirby said that the number of RV shipments is currently normalizing from last year’s record year as the holiday season approaches.

“The business of the RV is working towards delivering the top five years of the year. With our most recent research showing that there are more than 15 million Americans planning to travel by RV between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve, it’s evident that our industry provides a fantastic way for families and friends to spend the holidays together by the open air,” Kirby said.

Towable RVs, dominated by traditional travel trailers in October, finished the month with a decrease of 48.3% compared to October of last year, with 27,329 units shipped.

Motorhomes finished the month with a gain of 4.1% compared to the same month in the previous year, with 5,323 units.

Park Model RVs closed October on a high, up 43.2 percentage points compared to the same month of the year before, with 507 wholesale shipments. Currently, Park model RVs have increased by 16.5%, with 3,947 deliveries.
