Fixed Operations Day at the RV Dealers Convention/Expo will focus on enhancing dealership service departments’ profitability and efficiency through workshops led by industry experts. The event is scheduled for Thursday, November 14, at Paris Las Vegas.
Workshops on Fixed Operations Day will cover various topics to improve service processes, including strategies for increasing gross profits and overcoming warranty bottlenecks. Attendees will also benefit from insights shared by RV Learning Center-certified professionals and industry vendors.
One of the day’s workshops, “4 Simple Changes for a Record Year in Fixed Operations,” will be presented by Ken Barnes of DealerPRO RV Training. This session will outline strategies for boosting profitability through processes such as compensation plans, training programs, and performance measurement.
Another workshop, “Tune Up Your Warranty Processes,” led by Garry Enyart and James Pearo, will focus on improving Repair Event Cycle Time (RECT) by streamlining warranty repair processes.
Don Miller of Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS) will lead the session “Pulse Check: Current RECT Trends and What’s Driving Them,” offering insights into the latest Repair Event Cycle Time (RECT) trends.
Additionally, RV Technical Institute (RVTI) representatives Sharonne Lee and Justin Rickett will present “Level Up Your Technician Training with RVTI,” showcasing the most up-to-date training programs for both novice and seasoned RV technicians.
Valerie Ziebron from VRZ Consulting will lead a workshop titled “Tune Up Your Shop for Maximum Performance,” offering actionable steps to improve service department efficiency and profitability. This session will focus on identifying areas needing improvement and implementing solutions to ensure optimal shop performance.
Allison Miller of IDS will follow with “Elevate Your Fixed Ops Customer Experience with Automation,” emphasizing the importance of customer engagement in service departments and how automation can enhance communication and customer satisfaction.
In addition to the Fixed Operations Day workshops, vendor sessions will provide insights into key industry innovations. Kelly Mosher and Mike Pedue of Forest River, Inc., will present “The RV Journey – Ensuring a Smooth Path with Your OEM from Delivery to Service,” offering strategies for ensuring transitions from OEM delivery to final sales.
Other vendor sessions include “Lippert ABS” by Adam Buchanan, introducing a new anti-lock braking system for towables, and “RV Solar & Off-Grid Innovation” by David Copeland of Go Power.
Luc McCarty of Jaeger-UniTek Sealing Solutions will also present “World Class Slide-Out Sealing Solutions,” focusing on sealing technologies designed specifically for RVs.
Phil Ingrassia, RVDA president, highlighted the importance of improving Repair Event Cycle Time, stating, “One of RVDA’s strategic priorities is to help improve the industry’s Repair Event Cycle Time – or RECT.”
