The Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) kicks off today in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, running through November 6. Known as an event in the outdoor hospitality industry, OHCE gathers business owners, innovators, and professionals to explore new ideas, build connections, and share expertise.
The conference’s Day 1 promises a robust lineup of sessions focused on professional development, networking, and industry insights, reinforcing its standing as a “Top 50” trade show by Trade Show Magazine.
According to the event’s agenda, starting each day with “O-Hi! Coffee Conversations,” OHCE provides a casual networking environment where attendees can meet and share ideas over coffee. This morning gathering brings the spirit of OHI’s digital Coffee Conversations into an in-person setting, encouraging relaxed, productive interactions.
“OHCE2024 will begin with our “O-hi! Coffee Conversations,” welcoming and informal meet-ups designed for early risers. It’s a perfect way to start your day, especially for first-time attendees looking to break the ice,” a press release indicated.
A highlight of today’s opening session is the keynote by Vital Germaine, president of ENGAGE Teams 360, known for his expertise in creativity, leadership, and team development. Germaine’s address is expected to resonate with attendees, aligning with OHCE’s mission to foster creativity and strong interpersonal connections. His keynote will explore themes of empathy and teamwork, offering insights into building more engaged and innovative teams.
Germaine’s background—drawing on years as a Cirque du Soleil performer and team leader—adds a compelling perspective to his address. He is known for his impactful presentations, designed to inspire action and creative thinking. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for enhancing their leadership styles and strengthening their team dynamics.
OHCE’s “Campfire Sessions” will provide another opportunity for attendee engagement, taking a collaborative approach to open discussions on relevant industry topics. Previously known as “Cracker Barrel” sessions, these informal gatherings allow participants to explore shared challenges.
One of the Campfire Sessions will focus on customer experience, inviting attendees to share insights, discuss best practices, and explore innovative approaches to customer service. “Attendees are welcome to come and share their successes, ask questions, and engage in further dialogue,” the organizers stated on their website.
An advocacy panel titled “Advocacy Unleashed” will spotlight the importance of policy engagement for outdoor hospitality businesses. With industry leaders sharing stories of successful legislative efforts, this session will examine the role of advocacy in shaping policies that support the industry’s growth. Panelists will highlight recent wins in 2024 and discuss priorities for the coming year, aiming to empower attendees to play an active role in industry-wide policy efforts.
The advocacy panel also offers attendees practical insights into building relationships with government representatives at local, state, and national levels. Panelists will share strategies for effective communication and engagement, providing actionable advice on how to navigate the legislative landscape.
In addition to panels and sessions, the expo floor serves as a hub for exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services in outdoor hospitality. Attendees are encouraged to explore vendor booths, engage in fireside chats, and visit the activity center, each providing hands-on opportunities to discover innovative solutions and resources.
