Cincinnati Camp Cedar in Mason will reopen as a Jellystone Park RV and family glamping resort in early April, marking the return of the Yogi Bear-themed campground brand to the Tri-State area after a 20-year absence.
The resort, located less than one mile from Kings Island, is being transformed into a family entertainment and staycation destination under the Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts brand. The property is owned by Ohio-based Small Brothers, LLC and Terra Firma Associates.
As part of the rebranding, the owners are adding new attractions and programming designed around the Jellystone Park model.
Planned activities include a jumping pillow, wagon rides, foam parties, tie-dye activities and interactions with costumed Yogi Bear characters. These additions will complement the campground’s two existing swimming pools.
Theme weekends, including Christmas in July and Halloween Weekends, are also planned as part of the resort’s seasonal programming.
Reservations for the spring and summer camping seasons are now open.
The Jellystone Park brand operates more than 75 franchised locations across the United States and Canada. The resorts are known for family-oriented attractions, organized activities, premium RV sites and glamping-style accommodations. The franchise operates in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences.
Jellystone Park has historical ties to the Cincinnati area and nearby Kings Island. Yogi Bear was among the Hanna-Barbera characters featured in the park’s opening day parade in 1972, and a Jellystone Park Camp-Resort previously operated near Kings Island during the 1990s. Until late 2021, the Jellystone Park franchise was owned by Cincinnati-based Leisure Systems, Inc., whose leadership team remains in the city.
“The popularity of RVing and glamping keeps increasing among families,” Rob Schutter, president of Leisure Systems, said in a press release. “Today, parents want more than just a nice RV site or luxury cabin. They’re looking for fun activities that create lasting memories, which is what makes Jellystone Park so unique. We are thrilled that the resorts’ owners are bringing Jellystone Park back to the Tri-State area.”
Dick Haglage, one of the campground’s owners, said the resort is designed to provide activities throughout the day.
“From sun-up to s’mores, there will be non-stop fun and activities. Mealtime will be a breeze whether families are barbecuing at their site or eating at one of our on-site restaurants,” Haglage said.
“A stay at Jellystone Park Cincinnati will be a great value as most attractions and activities are included in the cost of an RV site or cabin rental,” Haglage added.
In addition to RV sites and glamping cabins, the property features a rustic-themed lodge, multiple food service options, sports courts, golf cart rentals, a fitness center, arcade and camp store.
