OHI has recently amended its mission statement, reinforcing its dedication to RV parks and campgrounds. This move comes in response to member concerns about the organization’s focus, ensuring that these core segments remain at the forefront of OHI’s strategic plan.
In a recent Board of Directors meeting, the OHI confirmed that the proposed updated mission statement explicitly includes RV parks, campgrounds, and glamping businesses. This revision aligns with the strategic plan for 2024-2026 and is consistent with the organization’s legal documents, including the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.
Joe Moore, CPO, OHE, chair of the OHI Board and owner of Moore’s Campground Consulting, highlighted the historical significance of RV parks and campgrounds in the industry. Moore emphasized the legacy and ongoing impact of these sectors, acknowledging their role in the success and future of outdoor hospitality.
“The legacy of RV parks and campgrounds and their existing and continued impact on the industry is what has made outdoor hospitality so successful thus far, and why we see the future as so bright with the inclusion of all types of outdoor hospitality businesses,” he said.
The revised mission statement, awaiting final approval at OHI’s upcoming spring board meeting, reads: “To empower RV parks, campgrounds, and glamping businesses with the community, resources, professional development, and legislative advocacy needed to ensure successful futures for all Outdoor Hospitality Industry businesses.”
Paul Bambei, president and CEO of OHI, addressed the organization’s long-standing commitment to its core members.
“A lot has changed in 60 years, but one thing that hasn’t is the core membership we serve. It’s simply expanded. In a rapidly changing environment, we know it is important that the outdoor hospitality industry has a national organization positioned to represent it well into the future. We exist to serve our members and ensuring our core membership feels seen within that mission and vision is essential to us,” Bambei added.
OHI’s commitment to the industry extends beyond its mission statement. The organization actively supports RV parks, campgrounds, and glamping businesses through various initiatives. These include professional development programs, networking events, exclusive discounts, and advocacy efforts at local, state, and federal levels.
The organization’s efforts are aimed at advancing the industry and providing value to its members. OHI’s dedication is evident in every aspect of its operations, from professional development to advocacy, ensuring the success of all its members.
For campground and outdoor hospitality operators, OHI’s focus offers significant benefits. The organization’s resources and advocacy provide essential support in navigating the challenges and opportunities of the industry. This support is crucial for the growth and sustainability of businesses in this sector.
OHI’s updated mission statement and strategic focus reaffirm its commitment to the core segments of the outdoor hospitality industry. This move ensures that RV parks, campgrounds, and glamping businesses continue to receive the support and representation they need for a successful future.
