Outdoor enthusiasts and campers can now start planning their adventures as Fire Island National Seashore (New York) announces the opening of its online reservations for camping, glamping, and marina.
As per a report, the booking system goes live today, Wednesday, and reservations for glamping at Watch Hill and Sailors Haven will be available at 8 a.m. Furthermore, marina reservations for Watch Hill and Sailors Haven can be made starting at 10 a.m.
According to seashore officials, rates will remain unchanged for the upcoming season as they strive to keep access to the seashore as affordable as possible. This is good news for glamping and campground operators around New York, who can expect a surge in bookings as more people seek outdoor adventures.
Camping and glamping have become increasingly popular during the pandemic as people seek to escape the confines of their homes while maintaining social distancing. Glamping, in particular, has grown in popularity as it provides a unique outdoor experience while offering modern amenities such as comfortable bedding, air conditioning, and private bathrooms. With reservations now open, glamping operators at Watch Hill, Sailors Haven, and Cedar Point can expect a busy summer season.
Aside from glamping, the seashore also offers marina services for boaters. Officials have made some rule changes to improve the check-out process and ensure a seamless experience for guests. Boaters with Sunday morning check-outs are now required to leave promptly to avoid blocking check-ins for Sunday reservations. Moreover, marina check-out time will now be at 10 a.m. at both Watch Hill and Sailors Haven.
Sailors Haven has also introduced a weekend summer special that provides a discount of over 15% for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday reservations. With a check-in on Friday and check-out on Monday, guests can enjoy the marina’s amenities and explore the seashore over the weekend.
According to its website, Fire Island offers a unique outdoor experience for adventure-seekers and nature lovers alike. Watch Hill has something for everyone, from protected campsites to luxurious glamping sites. With 22 sand sites, one universally accessible campsite on decking, one group campsite, and four glamping sites, Watch Hill has 28 camping and glamping sites.
The campsites at Watch Hill are located in a protected area behind the primary dunes and are just a short walk away from the oceanside beach. The facilities include running water, picnic tables, grills, showers, and bathrooms. Each campground site can accommodate up to five adults with either two 2-man tents or one 5-man tent.
For those who prefer a more luxurious camping experience, Watch Hill’s glamping sites are the perfect option. Each glamping site can accommodate up to 4 to 6 guests per furnished platform tent with bedding. Guests can enjoy the comforts of home in the great outdoors, with all the necessary amenities provided.
