Industry Veterans to Host Workshop on Identifying Service Department Inefficiencies at RVDA Convention/Expo

Rob Grant and Steven Call of dealer management software supplier Lightspeed will identify common inefficiencies found in the service department during a session in the fixed operations education track at the 2022 RV Dealers Convention/Expo in Las Vegas next month.

According to a press release, the inefficiencies can cost a dealership thousands of dollars each year, and the session will take a look at proven solutions.

The 45-minute workshop titled “Are You Leaving Money on the Table in Your Service Department?” will begin at 3:15 p.m. on November 9.

Grant and Call will look at proven processes that lead to improved department revenue by ensuring proper warranty claim processing occurs, technicians are working on revenue-generating jobs, and tools are provided for techs and service writers to easily communicate with consumers on suggested services.

Learning objectives for this session include:

  • Techniques to ensure proper warranty claim processing occurs
  • Win-win upselling
  • Practices that help keep technicians working on revenue-generating jobs

Grant has two decades and seven years of RV, marine, and power sports industry experience. He is the director of OEM solutions at Lightspeed. Call has over 24 years of RV, power sports, and marine industry experience and is a training supervisor for Lightspeed’s Recreation Division.

The convention/expo will take place November 7-11 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
