Navarro College, RV Technical Institute Launch Summer 2026 RV Technician Training Program

Navarro College will offer a summer 2026 RV technician training program in partnership with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), expanding hands-on workforce development for the recreational vehicle service industry.

“Students learn essential skills in diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of recreational vehicles (RVs). The program programs a hands-on training environment and prepares students for career opportunities in the RV service industry,” the program states.

The initiative is aimed at elevating customer service standards in the RV sector by preparing technicians who can “hit the ground running,” combining intensive instruction with job-ready training designed for service bay environments.

The two-week program is structured around the intersection of technical skill, safety and professionalism, pairing RVTI Level 1 Certification with additional shop-readiness instruction intended to improve operational efficiency in RV service operations.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA on May 19, Week one is dedicated to the RVTI Level 1 curriculum, providing foundational instruction in propane, electrical, plumbing and appliances. Students complete hands-on training using fifth wheels and travel trailers and prepare for the RVTI Level 1 certification exam.

The training also focuses on workplace readiness skills beyond technical certification, including basic computer skills, reading and writing repair orders, professionalism, customer service and workplace communication. It also includes Occupational Safety and Health Administration 10-hour certification training.

The program totals 80 hours and is priced at $1,200, offering participants a combined pathway of technical certification preparation and supplemental skills development aligned with RV service industry expectations.

Registration is currently open for two scheduled two-week sessions. The first runs June 8 to June 19, and the second runs July 13 to July 24.

Classes are held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, with applications required to be submitted two weeks prior to each start date.
