Roaring River State Park in Barry County, Missouri, will welcome visitors back to Campground 3 on February 25, following the completion of improvement projects.
Reservations for the upgraded campground are now available, according to Missouri State Parks officials.
The reopening marks a significant milestone for the popular park, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. Campground 3, a favored spot among visitors, had been temporarily closed to accommodate renovations aimed at enhancing the camping experience and addressing infrastructure needs.
“Missouri State Parks is working to maintain access to park resources while other construction projects in the park continue. Park representatives appreciate visitors’ understanding of this situation,” the park said in a press release.
According to its website, Roaring River State Park offers a range of camping options, including basic, electric, and sewer/water/electric campsites spread across three campgrounds.
For visitors seeking extra space, the park features family campsites, along with an organized group camp to accommodate larger gatherings. Campers can also visit the park store to stock up on essential supplies, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Missouri State Parks recently expanded its reservation window, allowing visitors to book campsites up to 12 months in advance, doubling the previous six-month timeframe. This change provides campers with greater flexibility to plan their visits.
Located in the southwest Ozark hills, Roaring River State Park stands out for its landscape and unique offerings, including being one of three state parks in Missouri stocked with rainbow trout.
