Beginning May 1, 2025, camping fees will increase for selected campgrounds at Arkabutla, Sardis, Enid, and Grenada Lakes.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District, which manages these lakes, operates over 100 recreation areas across Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. These areas offer a range of outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, boating, and hiking, attracting millions of visitors each year.
According to an article published by Delta News TV, the fee changes apply to all Class A campgrounds with full hookups, raising rates from $24 to $30 per night. These adjustments will affect campgrounds at four locations: Arkabutla Lake (Dub Patton, South Abutment, and Hernando Point), Sardis Lake (Oak Grove), Enid Lake (Persimmon Hill, Wallace Creek, Chickasaw Hill, Water Valley Landing, and Ford’s Well), and Grenada Lake (North Abutment and North Graysport).
In addition to the full hookup rate increase, several other fee changes will take effect at North Mississippi lakes. Tent camping areas at Arkabutla Lake—Pleasant Hill and Kelly’s Crossing—will be added to the reservation system, with nightly rates set at $8.
The South Abutment Day Use Area at Arkabutla Lake will also see an addition, as pavilion 821 will become available for reservation at $75 per day.
At Sardis Lake, the nightly rate for Beach Point’s tent camping area will rise from $8 to $10 per night. The fee adjustments at these facilities are designed to maintain and improve services at the lakes, according to the Corps.
For Grenada Lake, the fee for tent camping at Gum’s Crossing and Bryant Landing will increase from $14 to $16 per night.
Reservations for campgrounds, pavilions, and other recreation services such as boat launches and swimming passes can be made through the website www.recreation.gov. This online system is available for visitors to book their camping or recreational activities at the lakes.
