The city of LaPrairie (Grand Rapids, Minnesota) is set to see an increase in economic growth thanks to the Newman family, who are working to develop a campground and RV park that will open in the spring of next year.
As per a report, the two Newman families, Tom and Marilyn Newman, along with their son Jayson and wife Rachel Newman, purchased the 125-acre property just south of Highway 2 in LaPrairie behind Second Harvest North Central Food Bank.
A portion of the land will be utilized for commercial and residential lots in the future, but the first business area opening will be the Two Rivers RV Park and Campground, a 49-site RV park located near the convergence between the Mississippi and Prairie Rivers.
Two Rivers RV Park and Campground will feature 49 sites with picnic tables, fire rings, and 50-amp electrical service.
The park will also feature an RV sanitary area with a garage, bathroom, wash facility, and a picnic area close to the front entrance. The Newmans are also working with the Grand Rapids High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) to build picnic tables as a project for students.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, there will be nature trails and shore fishing as well as bird watching, swimming, native plants and flowers, and breathtaking views.
“I am excited, both as a resident and as an elected official of LaPrairie, for the Newman RV Park and the accompanying development plans,” said Mike Nelson, LaPrairie City Councilor.
Two Rivers RV Park and Campground will be connected to the city sewer and water supply systems, which will provide a hydrant for flushing and scattered hydrants for drinking water.
The grand opening ceremony of Two Rivers RV Park and Campground is on May 1, 2023.
