The construction of a new campground along Malton Road (Michigan) started yesterday, according to the city of Ishpeming.
As per a report, all trails crossing through the construction site will close from six am to six pm daily. Heavy equipment will move through the area, and the city advises bikers and walkers, hikers, and horse riders to stay clear of the area to ensure their safety.
Those traveling along Malton Road will see signage that alerts residents as they enter the construction zone.
The city stated the contractors are aware not every resident will be aware of the project and said they would work diligently to ensure the safety of residents. Still, they also request that the public be involved in raising awareness about the construction project.
The project is set to conclude on September 2.
The new rustic campground is designed to enhance the landscape and improve accessibility to the existing local trail system. The trails provide direct access to the city of Ishpeming.
“A rustic campground is a natural fit to this landscape and will ultimately improve access to many of the local trail systems by creating an inviting place to stay while enjoying a visit,” reads the city’s notice of construction.
