Officials of the Keweenaw County in Michigan have authorized a special use permit for the new 25-site East Bluff Campground, according to a report.
The new campground will offer primitive campsites, a single privy with 12-watt solar light, and a hand-pumped well.
The county road commission will continue to grade the private gravel road that leads to the site.
The county commissioners present at the May 18 regular meeting were Bob DeMarois, Randy Eckloff, Don Piche, Jim Vivian, and Del Rajala who unanimously approved the permit for East Bluff Campground.
According to the minutes of the meeting, plans for the primitive campground were also unanimously recommended by the Planning Commission during the early stage.
