Blue Water Reports Over $1.3M in Donations through Ongoing Initiative

The spirit of giving is alive year-round for outdoor hospitality specialist Blue Water as it recorded a total of $1.375 million in donations this year through its Blue Water Gives Back initiative.

Blue Water CEO Todd Burbage made the announcement in a LinkedIn post.

“We’re proud to have already supported a handful of organizations that are making a difference in our local communities this year with a total of $1.375M in donations through our ongoing Blue Water Gives Back initiative, providing funding and assistance for programs throughout Maryland and Virginia,” Burbage said.

The company that specializes in investing, developing, and managing RV resorts and campgrounds has reported that its Blue Water Gives Back initiative supported Ducks Unlimited Conservation with $50,000 and Northampton County YMCA with $75,000. Diakonia has received $150,000 from Blue Water and Greenbackville Vol. Fire Department received the highest portion of the donations reaching $1,100,000.

Blue Water’s Jack and Todd Burbage’s altruistic spirit has inspired the company’s workforce, with staff participating in annual giving campaigns and uniting for team volunteer efforts, according to its website.

Not only do the donations help the beneficiaries, but even communities benefit from the company’s initiative, with over $15 million of economic impact each project brings to an area, not to mention the jobs being created from construction (hundreds) until a resort’s completion (six full-time and up to 80 seasonal employees).

Each Blue Water project helps the local community by supporting local vendors and suppliers. Local businesses also benefit from Blue Water’s presence as its properties lead guests to communities and staff encourage visitors to explore the area, driving new customers.

One way the company raises funds to give back is through the properties’ events, serving as an avenue for collecting food donations, donating proceeds, and giving organizations a platform for building awareness.

However, Blue Water is not alone in its philanthropic journey. The company teams up with local non-profit organizations for venues and marketing support for fundraising events. Staff members support community organizations through a United Way giving campaign, and Blue Water gives back to non-profits on the eastern shore.

Blue Water’s KOA properties also support Care Camps.Founded in 2002, Blue Water specializes in investing, developing, and managing RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions. The company has resort-area properties in east coast states from Maine to Florida, and new additions out west in Texas, Montana, and Oregon. To learn more about the company, visit BWDC.com.
