Cypremort Point State Park Announces Campground Opening on March 22

In a significant development for outdoor enthusiasts, Cypremort Point State Park is set to welcome visitors to its new campground, featuring 22 premium campsites, starting March 22, according to Louisiana State Parks. This addition marks an expansion in the park’s accommodation facilities, which also include 5 unimproved campsites and 6 deluxe cabins. The announcement has been met with anticipation, as reservations will open on March 12.

The premium campsites are designed to offer a comfortable and accessible outdoor experience, with pull-through ADA-accessible concrete pads equipped with full hookups, catering to the needs of RVs and campers alike.

Cypremort Point State Park, nestled between Grand Isle and Cameron, showcases a few locations near the Gulf of Mexico accessible by car. The park features a half-mile man-made beach, offering a serene spot for relaxation, picnicking, and water-based activities such as fishing, crabbing, water skiing, windsurfing, and sailing.

The unimproved campsites, on the other hand, provide a more rustic camping experience, lacking hookups but offering a closer connection to nature. Pricing for the premium sites varies, with rates set at $33 per night plus tax for Friday and Saturday stays, and a reduced rate for Sunday through Thursday, reflecting seasonal demand and offering options for every budget.

The deluxe cabins at the park are outfitted to ensure a comfortable stay, complete with basic cookware, cooking utensils, dinnerware, silverware, towels, and linens. Guests are advised to bring their own food and personal supplies, allowing for a personalized and self-sufficient stay amidst nature.

For fishing enthusiasts, the park provides ample opportunities, with a boat launch just outside its entrance, leading to the Gulf of Mexico and Vermilion Bay. The area is known for its flounder and redfish catches, with a 100-foot fishing pier on the bay for shore fishing. Additionally, overnight visitors have access to adjacent boat docks and a fish cleaning station, enhancing the fishing experience.
