The Louisville Boat, RV, and Sportshow (Kentucky) is back following its 2021 hiatus. In addition, Campers Inn RV Indiana will be there to exhibit the stunning, luxurious 2022 Newmar Dutch Star diesel motorcoach.
“(It’s) pretty fantastic,” said Campers Inn RV lead salesperson and motor home specialist Eric Romero.
This is what customers are looking for (when) stepping into coach number two, coach number three, full-time living, or maybe just luxury camping for several times throughout the year.
According to a report, the Dutch Star boasts all the features of a brand-new one-bedroom apartment, one-and-half bath apartment, or condominium.
“The rear bathroom,” Romero said in an interview, “is what they call a king suite, so (there’s) a larger bathroom area, head toilet, (and) cabinetry. There are models with dual vanities and single vanities — it just depends on the floor-plan layout.”
The model Campers Inn RV will display is model 4369, which Romero claims is the most sought-after floor plan that has been ordered. It can comfortably sleep four people with a queen-sized mattress in the bedroom and an extra sofa bed in the front.
“(There’s also) dual-power theater seating,” Romero said, adding that the adjacent TV can be adjusted to accommodate the viewers. Whether they’re watching from the theater seats or from the cockpit, all their favorite shows are within reach thanks to the movable screen. There is also an outdoor TV as well as another entertainment area in the bedroom.
“With all motorhomes, the best part about it,” Romero added, “(is) you can use the restroom, you can use the kitchen area, (or) you can go back and retire and sleep, all while you’re traveling in motion.”
The dining area boasts a Euro booth suitable for two persons but can fit four. Moreover, just like all the other furniture inside Dutch Star, seating can be customized.
“There are other models where the dinner table will pop down, there’s a seat cushion that fills in the gap in the middle, and then (it) becomes an additional bed,” Romero explained.
In terms of cooking and meal preparation, the coach comes with almost everything you need in a kitchen, including a dishwasher, as well as a removable induction countertop that can be placed outdoors to enjoy al-fresco dining.
“It’s all-electric,” Romero added. “There’s no propane on this coach. Having the induction countertop (is) more energy efficient. You’re not using fossil fuels, propane, or any other kinds of methods.”
The kitchen also houses a conduction microwave and a residential-sized refrigerator. Cabinetry is as good as, if not better, than the wooden work you would find in a typical house.
“Everything is handcrafted (and) custom-built at the facility,” Romero explained. “The staff at Newmar are mostly Amish and handcraft the cabinetry in-house. It’s not outsourced from other companies or manufacturers. Everything is assembled outside of the coach, and once the chassis comes into production, everything then gets added on.”
Its name, the Dutch Star, has been around for decades, but Newmar continues to adjust the vehicle’s design. Alongside new options for customization of design features that include four exterior graphic designs and the interior design palettes of four and four wood cabinetry stainings to select from, there are several additional improvements making their debut with the model 2022.
“Every year, something new will come out,” Romero explained. “For this year … some of the new tidbits were the bigger screen displays, (and) no more analog design gauges. It’s (an) all-digital cockpit display.”
The greatest feature is, however, has nothing to do with newer televisions or digital displays.
“Hands down,” Romero said, “it’s going to be the comfort of how it drives. Newmar has their technology of the comfort-drive system, (which is) a computer-automated steering system. You drive (this coach) with one finger; it swings in the direction that you tell it to go.”
“(There’s also) a second set of tires in the rear, so it features what they call passive-steer technology. Those rear tires turn in the opposite direction of what the front tires do, giving you a much sharper turning radius in tight places. The driving experience takes all the fatigue factors away, and that’s a Newmar exclusive. Every single one of their diesel motor homes has the comfort-drive steering system.” he ended.
