Winnebago Industries: Lithionics acquisition Accelerates Innovation in Battery Solutions

Winnebago Industries, Inc. an outdoor lifestyle product manufacturer, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Lithionics Battery, a lithium-ion battery solutions provider for recreational equipment and specialty vehicle markets.

In a statement, Winnebago Industries President and CEO Michael Happe said, “The addition of Lithionics accelerates our innovation in diverse battery solutions and advances our overall electrical ecosystem, creating more opportunities for our RV and marine products to capitalize on consumer preferences for fully immersive, off-the-grid outdoor experiences, while enhancing our enterprise margin profile.”

“Following years of close partnership, we are pleased to welcome the talented Lithionics team to the Winnebago Industries family. We look forward to working together to expand the use of Lithionics’ efficient energy solutions within our own portfolio, as well as supporting Lithionics in growing relationships with its existing customers and exploring new market applications for its premier battery solutions,” Happe added.

J.P. Morgan Securities LLC acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Winnebago Industries, while Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath served as the company’s legal advisor.

The acquisition of Lithionics Battery by Winnebago Industries has significant implications for the RV manufacturing industry.

With the increasing demand for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions in recreational vehicles, the integration of Lithionics’ lithium-ion battery technology can provide RV manufacturers with the opportunity to develop more sustainable and innovative products.

Moreover, the acquisition reflects a growing trend among RV manufacturers to invest in and adopt advanced technologies that cater to consumer preferences for off-grid and eco-friendly experiences.

This collaboration between Winnebago Industries and Lithionics Battery could pave the way for more energy-efficient RVs, ultimately benefiting both the manufacturers and consumers in the long run.
