Shipshewana RV Park Lights Up the Holidays with Drive-Thru Light Display

The annual Lights of Joy holiday display is underway in Shipshewana, offering visitors a festive experience featuring over two million LED lights along a nearly two-mile route.

Now in its seventh year, the event, presented by Shipshewana Trading Place and Blue Gate Hospitality, has become a cherished tradition in the region.

The display includes a wide array of features, from illuminated arches and animated scenes to depictions of classic Christmas stories, such as the nativity.

Expanded this year with additional lights and new attractions, the event is designed to create lasting holiday memories for visitors of all ages.

Brian Lambright, business development director of Shipshewana Trading Place, highlighted the event’s continual growth.

“With each passing year, we add more features, more lights, and new surprises for families to enjoy. It’s truly a special way to create lasting memories,” he told InkFreeNews.

Ryan Riegsecker, president of Blue Gate Hospitality, described the display as a cornerstone of holiday celebrations in the area.

“Our goal is to make Shipshewana the heart of holiday joy in the region. By adding even more lights and displays this year, we’re not only investing in the event but also in the memories of the families who visit. It’s a special experience, and we’re proud to share it with our community and guests,” said Riegsecker.

Located on the grounds of the Shipshewana RV Park, the event begins at the Shipshewana Flea Market and concludes on CR 200N. It runs through December 31, with hours from 6-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The display is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Admission is $20 per vehicle Sunday through Thursday and $30 on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate or online.

Shipshewana Trading Place, known for hosting the Midwest’s largest flea market, operates a variety of other attractions, including an RV service center, livestock and antique auctions, and the Farmstead Inn & Conference Center.

Seasonal events such as craft shows and swap meets further highlight the area’s offerings. For more information about Lights of Joy or other Shipshewana attractions, visit the event’s official website or follow it on social media.
