Camping Season in Hamilton County Officially Begins

White River Campground (Indiana) Supervisor Steven Haas, Hamilton County Council President and Parks Liaison Steve Schwartz, Hamilton County Parks leadership, and parks board members welcomed this season’s first arrivals to the popular campground.

According to a report, the 25-acre campground is situated on the picturesque White River and offers guests the chance to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors by camping in everything from a pup tent to a luxury RV.

The grounds feature a  camp store, rec center, playground, laundry facility, paved drives, a canoe launch, and other convenience and recreational amenities.

Campers also have access to Strawtown Koteewi Park, the largest park in the county, by traversing the magnificent pedestrian-only Patterson Historic Bridges that span the White River.

After crossing the bridge, visitors can enjoy various adventures in nature, whether in the award-winning Taylor Center of Natural History, on the surface of the new Koteewi Lake, or in the park’s exciting Adventure Area.

“The campgrounds have undergone a number of improvements and updates, and my outstanding camp staff and hosts are excited about serving a record number of campers in 2022,” Haas said.
