Pearl Lake Reopens to the Public Under New Ownership

According to a local report, Pearl Lake, a 207-acre beach, campground, and RV resort located in South Beloit, Illinois, will be open to the public for the first time in four years starting next month.

This news comes after the recent sale of the property by Zeman Homes to new owner Lance Beatch, a former investment banker who has spent a decade acquiring campgrounds and RV resorts.

Beatch, who also owns Fox Bluff Vacation Cottage & RV Resort in Yorkville, has big plans for the property.

He hopes to turn Pearl Lake into a top regional draw for swimmers and campers by adding new cabanas, a floating water park, and upgrading the bar and concession area.

The new owner has referred to the property as an “exceptional asset” with “outstanding raw cloth to work with.” He wants to restore the property to its former glory and make it a destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

The reopening of Pearl Lake has been met with enthusiasm by the community and city officials in South Beloit. Sonya Hoppes, the city administrator, is “invigorated that there’s about to be some life brought back to a hidden treasure.”

She added that “anybody who’s lived here for all of their life will tell you there’s a handful of things that are just natural beauty things about South Beloit. They’re the things we remember about our childhood.”

The campground and RV resort consists of 340 sites, a 50-acre lake, and plenty of room for expansion.

Seasonal campers have already started arriving at Pearl Lake, and Beatch hopes to open the resort to the public by Memorial Day weekend.

The new owner’s plans for Pearl Lake also have implications for other private campground owners and operators in the nearby area.

With Beatch’s experience in the industry, he may be able to bring new ideas and innovations to the region.

This could lead to healthy competition and improve the overall camping and RVing experience for visitors to the area.

With the addition of new amenities and improvements, the resort has the potential to become a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and provide an economic boost to the region.

The reopening of Pearl Lake under new ownership is a significant event for the South Beloit community and the camping and RVing industry in the region.
