Westwind RV Park and Golf Resort in Arizona made a significant contribution to the local Shriners Chapter, donating a total of $3,701, according to a KYMA KECY news report. The funds were raised through a series of events hosted by the resort throughout February.
This donation is earmarked for Shriners Children’s Hospitals, which operates across the United States, providing critical care for children in need.
Westwind RV & Golf Resort is a destination for snowbirds, offering a comprehensive suite of amenities and activities designed to cater to a wide range of interests and lifestyles. “We do a Friday night dance every Friday, and we did a 50-50 drawing, and we would always do half of the pot go to the Shriners and the other half go to the winner, and sometimes the winner even gave the money back because it was such a good cause,” Connie Erickson, activities director at the Westwind RV and Golf Resort, said, as quoted in the same report.
The Shriners, in recognition of the RV park and golf resort’s substantial contribution, presented a certificate of appreciation. The donation from Westwind RV Park and Golf Resort will contribute to the hospital’s ongoing efforts.
At the heart of Westwind’s community lies its Administration and Activity Building, which serves as a central hub for guests. The facility is complemented by the Westwind Bar and Grill, a Pro Shop, a library room, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and three deluxe laundry rooms and restrooms.
Golf enthusiasts are particularly drawn to Westwind for its on-site golf course. Meanwhile, pickleball, a sport that has gained significant popularity in recent years, is another highlight of the resort.
The resort caters to a variety of accommodation preferences with its full hook-up sites, which are available for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual rentals. This flexibility makes Westwind an attractive option for winter visitors looking for a temporary or long-term stay.
The resort boasts an extensive list of amenities and daily activities, including billiards, bingo, bocce, cards and games, ceramics, concerts, cornhole, craft fairs, dance lessons, and Friday night dances.
