Aqua-Hot, an AIRXCEL® brand is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, according to a press release.
Founded as Vehicle Systems, Inc. in 1984 by Harold “Hap” Enander in Fort Lupton, Colorado, the company initially produced various RV accessories and water heaters. Enander, an RV enthusiast, sought to enhance the RV experience, specifically aiming for a heating system that provided quiet, evenly distributed heat and unlimited hot water under a continuous supply. This vision led to the debut of the Aqua-Hot Heating System® in March 1989 at the San Antonio Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) show.
According to the report, Aqua-Hot’s 40th-anniversary celebrations in 2024 will include various events aimed at honoring its legacy, recognizing the dedication of its employees, and expressing gratitude to its clients and distributors for their longstanding partnership.
Over the past 15 years, Aqua-Hot has witnessed significant growth. The company relocated from Fort Lupton to Frederick, Colorado, in 2013 and became part of the Airxcel family of brands in 2019. In August of the same year, Selma Salihagic took on the role of general manager.
“Aqua-Hot has seen incredible growth in the past few years as more and more people start exploring the RV lifestyle,” Salihagic said.
The introduction of the Gen1 furnace and water heater combination in 2022 marked another milestone. Designed for high-altitude performance up to 15,000 feet, this appliance combines space efficiency with the capability to heat water independently of the furnace, catering to the specific needs of RV users.
“We’ve been able to make a product that is a critical piece of the RV experience, and we continue to innovate to serve our customers in all of our markets. In 2020, we launched the Aqua-Hot 125 which was geared for the campervan segment. We have exciting opportunities for future expansion with new product lines coming soon,” Salihagic said.
In October 2023, Aqua-Hot completed a transition to a new facility in Frederick, Colorado. The company announced a series of monthly in-person training sessions accompanied by tours of its new building, scheduled to begin in January 2024 and extend throughout the year.
