Virginia State Parks to Host Concerts This Summer

Virginia State Parks set to host an exciting lineup of music series this summer, featuring everything from bluegrass, beach music and country to rock and roll, symphony, and contemporary performances.

Many parks offer live music throughout the year, ensuring there’s always something for everyone to enjoy.

These events provide an opportunity to spend time outdoors, relax, or enjoy the music through dance.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and choose a comfortable place to appreciate the performances offered by a wide range of artists.

Each Virginia State Park offers a unique view so consider attending one or more of the following music series available this year:

  • Belle Isle State Park features Music by the River
  • Caledon State Park features Songs in the Woods
  • Hungry Mother State Park features Music in the Park
  • James River State Park features Batteaux & Banjos Festival
  • Pocahontas State Park features Pocahontas Premieres
  • Westmoreland State Park features Music on the Cliff

Virginia State Parks also provides music at festivals and welcome campfires taking place at several locations this year. Music at the parks provide a wonderful atmosphere to connect with friends, family and nature.

Most concert series run from May through October and start at 6 p.m. or later. Some shows are free, while others require purchased tickets, and all park locations charge a parking fee upon entry. Camping isn’t required to enjoy the concerts, but it’s a great option if you want to listen to music at night and then spend the next day exploring the park.
