Quebec-based Bromont Campervan will be the first converted van renting company in North America to own an electric campervan in its fleet. Also, the van will be available for rent for summer 2023.
“We’re proud to be the pioneer in the field. Yes, the van life and road tourism is interesting but it is clear that the inflation of the gas price and our environmental values pushed us to develop this new kind of tourism,” shared Olivier Marcoux, founder of the Bromont company, in a press release.
A new kind of tourism
With its 200 km range on one charge, the Ford E-Transit will allow customers who rent it to experience a new kind of tourism– slow tourism.
The primary purpose of this vehicle won’t be to travel long distances in a few days, but rather to experience local tourism, spend a good time in quality places while the battery gets recharged, and meet local craftsmen… all while saving significant amounts of money on gas and doing their part for the environment!
EazyVans and Volthium get involved
To make sure that the vehicle is equipped according to the rules of the art, Bromont Campervan has partnered with specialized companies.
“When we were lucky enough to get this model of electric van and it was confirmed to me that I would receive it in August, I knew right away that it was a sign and that I had to act,” said Marcoux.
He added that he immediately contacted Olivier Barré at EazyVans for a partnership on the inside layout of the vehicle.
“Their experience in this field gives me complete confidence in the final product we’ll receive!” the businessman added.
The layout will be “tasteful,” he said. The interior will feature cherry wood furniture, an electric retractable bed, a kitchen area, a toilet, and a shower.
Travelers will be in perfect comfort during their electric road trip in the Ford E-Transit. A Volthium battery will complete the layout with a battery that will allow them to use all the vehicle’s accessories without reducing its range.
Available for rent in 2023
This two-passenger vehicle, which was delivered to on August 10, is being fitted out in the EazyVans shop in Cowansville. It will be available for rent for the summer season of 2023.
